    1. [BRADLEY-ROOTS-L] Edward Filor Bradley (properly formatted -- sorry)
    2. Candice Bradley
    3. Howdy! I just joined this list too. My father is Charles Edward Bradley, b. 1912 Rochester NY, currently living in Daytona Beach, FL with my mother, Renata. His father was Edward Filor Bradley, about whom we know almost absolutely nothing, except that he married my grandmother Flora Adella Newberry in Rochester, had parents who lived someplace in Rochester, and was drafted but did not serve in WWI (was at Fort Dix). In 1919 or so he took the family to Akron and Cleveland Ohio, but my grandmother and the children returned to Rochester a couple of years later without him. His whereabouts are unknown after that. My father can't even tell me when and where he died, except that it was after my grandmother's death in 1931. And I don't think he cares to remember -- Edward wasn't the idea husband and father, apparently. Finding info on Edward Filor Bradley has been nearly a dead end. The draft records for WWI are incomplete, so I can't even be sure the couple of EBs on those lists are he. I've written for his draft info and the marriage certificate. It's the only hope I have of finding out anything! My father had a brother, Alfred Filor Bradley, b. 1914 d. 1988 Rochester. Alfred married two or three times, but I only know of his last family, wife Loretta and children Eva and Carl (both probably around age 35-40). They live in Rochester. I suspect that Edward might have another family someplace in Ohio (you never know). My dad claims that my grandfather's family came from Ireland and that they were Protestants. However, we don't know this for sure. Flora Adella Newberry descended from the Nicholas Knapp lineage (arrived on these shores in 1630) and it was clear that my great grandfather, Charles Knapp Newberry, was not happy about the union. However, there's that middle name Filor (or Filer) which is another one of those old colonial America names -- so I don't know. At this point I've pursued everything I could pursue on the 'net, and I just have to wait until those vital records arrive in my mailbox. In the meantime, greetings to all you other Bradleys out there! Candice Bradley (married to Daniel Byrne, mother of Mark, John and Camille Byrne) Appleton, WI PS I apologise for the formatting problem last time.

    1. [BRADLEY-L] My Bradley brick wall
    2. J. Todd Scott
    3. I'm trying to overcome my brick wall on Joseph "Josiah" Bradley, my gggrandfather. He was born abt 1828, probably in VA. In 1863 he married Sara Catherine Gibson in Webster Co., KY, but he already had a son, Robert Frank Bradley at the time. He had at least 10 children: Robert F., James H., John J., Frances A., Joseph A., George W., Sarah C., Andrew J., Harvey G., and Nola. I have no records of Josiah before his (second?) marriage in 1863. Is anyone researching this line? Jennie Scott

    2. Tom Gillett
    3. DeeDee-- Lots of Bradleys in Onondaga County in Marcellus, NY not far from Camillus. The town was more or less founded by Daniel Bradley from Connecticut. He was a minister in Whitestown, NY also called New Hartford. He was the first schoolteacher and a judge there for many years. He died in Marcellus in 1838. I'm away from home and my files at the moment but I'll look for John Bradley when I get home next week. In fact, I stopped in Marcellus en route to Cape Cod last Thursday and photographed Dan Bradley's grave. His sister Esther Bradley Gillet was my ggggrandmother. I'll be back in touch. Our annual Bradley family reunion is fast approaching and would like to share any info found with the rest of the Bradley gang. Thanks- Dee Dee deejay@ptnt.net
