Sorry folks. I sent the following earlier today and it is incorrect. My Dallas Cowboys were having difficulty and my old mind was not on genealogy as I typed! LOL <<<Sarah Anne Bradley was born 1825 in Tennessee. She married William Bryan Hyman 1842 in Louisiana. She died 1910 in Rapides Parish, Louisiana. I have no knowledge of her parents or place of birth (in Tennessee). Your assistance appreciated.>>>> SHOULD HAVE READ: Sarah Anne Bradley was born 1825 in Tennessee. She married John David, of France in 1842 in Louisiana. She died 1910 in Rapides Parish, La. I have no knowledge of her parents or place of her birth (in Tennessee). John David lived in New Orleans until about 1835, when he moved to Rapides Parish, Louisiana. Therefore, I'm sure that is where Sarah Anne married him in 1842. Thanks, -Wayne

How many of us have wished that the very next message on the BRADLEY list would provide a lead on our elusive ancestor, our brick wall? How many have never posted a query, yet are still looking for that first clue? Many of our subscribers still have not posted that first message telling how they relate to the BRADLEY surname. There are a great number of our 'kin' in this world; however, it is highly unlikely that we will ever mention anyone in your not-too-distant ancestry unless you post a query to: BRADLEY-L@rootsweb.com Unless you tell something about your oldest ancestor and two or three of their descendant generations in your family tree, we list members are probably not going to ever mention your ancestor in any message. If you have not posted a message yet, please do so today! If you have posted a query, but not about your oldest ancestor and their descendants, please post a message about them today! If you have posted a query about your oldest ancestor, but did not give any data on their descendants, please do so today! If you have posted a query about your ancestor sometime ago and have new data or wish to repost your ancestor, please do so today! Please!!!! Create a new message to post your query. Please do not quote this message back to the BRADLEY list as it will only make your query difficult to read. To make your ancestor standout and easily identified, consider including their name, birthdate/deathdate (if known) and migration path in the subject line. Example: John BRADLEY 1725-1805 VA>TN. As of today, we have 256 BRADLEY list members. Possibly, some members have subscribed to both the BRADLEY-L and BRADLEY-D lists or subscribed a home and workplace address. Please don't overlook the BRADLEY and BRADLEY-ROOTS archives for queries posted by members who have unsubscribed from the BRADLEY list. On Wed, 14 Oct 1998, Paula <LarkinP@aol.com> posted an excellent discussion for accessing and searching the RootsWeb archives. Thanks! Paula Please don't be afraid of making a mistake in posting a query. If I see you need assistance, I'll come to your rescue. You may wish to consider withholding personal data on living descendants. For anyone you hasn't tried it, this is one of the best resources on Rootsweb. When you go to the Rootsweb Archives (messages posted to Rootsweb lists) http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl you will need to type Bradley on first screen. You have to spell it Bradley even if you are looking for Bradlee etc. posts..you don't need the "-L@rootsweb.com." On the second screen you can search for whatever you wish Example: Cornelius It may be better to search by county or state, If you are looking for a common name like John or Robert you will need to be more specific Ex: John and (Illinois or IL) If there are too many "returns" you may want to try the county name Ex: Jackson and (County or Co) also try searching for any maiden names you have connected to your Bradleys, or any thing else unique, for instance a middle name, if his name is John Spencer Bradley. Example: Spencer Ex: Indian You will need to search each years messages . If you want to refine your searching go to http://www.shelby.net/shelby/jr/robertsn/rwsearch.htm for suggestions. Other surname lists are at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~maillist/surnames/index.html Be sure and write down the main spelling variation of a name because to reach that groups archives you are going to have to spell it exactly as the group is filed here. ... Have fun searchin.....~Paula~
I am seeking information on Daniel Blue Bradley, b. 1798 in TN. Family history is that he is the son of Jonathon Bradley and Cassandra Blue, although this has not been conclusively proven. Daniel was a veteran of the Black Hawk Indian War, and lived most of his adult life in Monroe Co., KY. Also based on family history, he was married to Martha Davis. They had a daughter Priscilla who was born in TN in 1820. She married William Baxter of KY. Daniel died in 1883 and was buried in Dubois Co., IN where he was living with his grandson, Elbert Baxter. I am interested in exchanging information with anyone who is researching this family.
