    3. List members... be forwarned that <User386342@aol.com> has caused problems on other surname lists as <Rarebk@aol.com> which listowners removed from their lists. Earlier this week, I removed <Rarebk@aol.com> from the BRADLEY list; and, he has changed usernames and again, subscribed to the list. This evening, I have removed <User386342@aol.com> from the list. There is also a Cherokee genealogy "how-to" tutorial, as well as the 1835 Cherokee census listing. I would provide the site url here, but don't want to be accused of spunging, because you can buy rare books from the site. And, I don't have your email address, so had to contact you this way. Look forward to your email. Sincerely, Paul

    3. Recently, on other RootsWeb surname mailing lists, two incidences of inappropriate activities have occurred. A lurker on one or more surname list was posing as a surname researcher and was personally contacting list members who had posted queries on the surname discussion list. This individual would not share information and became rather intimidating to those list members refusing to share their data. Consequently, many of the list members became afraid to post further queries or data to the list for fear of reprisal from this individual. After considerable investigation, it appeared that this individual was writing a book on the surname(s) and used rude tactics to achieve their goal. Another incident involved an individual who has badgered surname list members to purchase their books after members posted a query on the surname list. Both of these activities, whether intimidating or badgering list members on or off the list, will not be tolerated and will result in the perpetuator being permanently removed from the list. If the perpetuator's activity warrants, they will be reported to their Internet Service Provider recommending their account be terminated. If anyone experiences any actions considered inappropriate relative to this list, please notify me immediately using my personal email address: myoung@icok.net Any report of inappropriate activity will kept in strict confidence. 2. Bruce C Kinmonth
    3. I'm (still) searching for the birthplace of Harriet BRADLEY, born 27 Mar 1800, "in CT" according to a NY census. Her mother was Lavinia LEWIS, born 16 Jun 1764. I believe that this Lavinia is the same person as a "Levina LEWIS" shown married to Samuel BRADLEY, he born 23 Jan 1765 in Derby, CT. Orcutt's "History of Derby" claims that Samuel and Levina had four sons and four daughters, but does not name any of them. Was Harriet indeed one of their daughters? Does anyone have access to the state-wide Barbour index that might show where Harriet was born? By the way, this Samuel Bradley was son of Enos BRADLEY (b 1726 in New Haven) and Hannah PIERSON... 2. Jim & Mary Pat Young
    3. The former RootsWeb BRADLEY-ROOTS List has been closed for about six months and was consolidated with the RootsWeb BRADLEY List. A few members of this list are continuing to send queries to: BRADLEY-ROOTS-L@rootsweb.com Queries addressed to <BRADLEY-ROOTS-L@rootsweb.com> are not sent to the BRADLEY-L membership because these queries end-up as error reports in my email box. Please, please, PLEASE !!! Remove the <BRADLEY-ROOTS-L@rootsweb.com> address from your email address book. Send all queries related to the BRADLEY surname to: BRADLEY-L@rootsweb.com Starting today, any BRADLEY-L or BRADLEY-D list member sending queries to: BRADLEY-ROOTS-L@rootsweb.com or BRADLEY-ROOTS-D@rootsweb.com WILL NOT be personally notified that their query is being sent to the incorrect address; instead, the query will be automatically sent to the "trash bin". I apologize for having to take this position; however, I prefer to do other tasks versus giving special attention to a few list members who fail to read and comply with instructions sent to the BRADLEY list and published in the BRADLEY Welcome Message. Please send any questions or comments regarding the BRADLEY or the former BRADLEY-ROOTS list to my personal email address: myoung@icok.net Happy Huntin' Jim Young List Moderator and RootsWeb Donor

    3. All I Want For Christmas Dear Santa: Don't bring me new dishes; I don't need a new kind of game. Genealogists have peculiar wishes; For Christmas I just want a surname. A new washing machine would be great, But it isn't the desire of my life. I've just found an ancestor's birth date, Now I need the name of his wife. My heart doesn't yearn for a ring that would put a real diamond to shame. What I want is a much cheaper thing: Please give me Martha's last name. To see my heart singing with joy, Don't bring me a red leather suitcase. Bring me a genealogist's toy: A surname, with dates and a place. == Author Unknown And all I want for Christmas is where Richard Bradley b. ca 1780 m. 27 Nov 1805 in Wilkes Co., NC to Sarah (Sally) Mooney, went to Montgomery Co., IL, was the last years of his life and where he died? Please, dear Santa? Regards, Shirley Williams

Mary was a native of County Derry, Ireland, born in 1832 and was the daughter of Michael Bradley and Bridget Murray.
