Surnames: Bradford, Taylor Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/3YF.2ACIB/1368.4.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: I am "jawgen" and here is what I have: Vespasian Bradford( I have abt. 1560 but probably more likely 1570-1580) had his children Christened at St. Thomas The Apostle in London, England. It was destroyed but some records survived. Vespasian had 7 children that we know of. Two were named Richard. The first Richard was born 24 June 1605 and died the day after(25 June 1605). His last child was Richard (our Richard?) and was Christened 9 Dec. 1611. This would put him born at about that time. However, sometimes there was a longer period between birth and Christening. It does not appear that Vespasian waited. I hope this helps. In the same Parish we find children of a Richard Taylor and his servant Margaret Manning being Christened. An added note: The name Vespasias belonged to a Roman Emperor. Rome had invaded England at one time. Could it be that we are part Roman?! I have found no other information on Vespasian and I am still looking for the information as to where I believed Richard came from London. I am inclined to remember that it came from Ship records, but I am not sure.
