SERVICE: He served with Wolfe on the plains of Abraham and was a Minute Man under Colonel Patrick Henry at Long Bridge in 1775 when he marched against Lord Dunmore. "First Surgeon on the regiment of Colonel Patrick Henry; afterwards appointed by Governor Henry to inoculate the troops designed to enter the Continental service, to which he gave his full time and largely of his private fortune."
