    2. Adam Bradford
    3. Avery is the son of William Bradford, born about 1784. Here's the household of William, as listed in the 1850 census for Worcester county: William Bradford, age 66, Farmer Avery Bradford, age 21, Farmer Mary J. Bradford, age 16 Gilley Bradford, age 5 James S. Bradford, age 3 Nancy Bradford, age 50 William's father is the Avery Bradford who appears in the 1790 census for Worcester County. On 12 Jan 1810, Avery (the elder) apprenticed William (age 17 at the time) to Henry White, blacksmith. Avery's will, written 12 Apr 1810, was proved shortly afterwards, on 1 May 1810. Here's an abstract: To son Avery Bradford, the plantation. To four youngest children Gilley Bradford, Darby Bradford, Annie Bradford, Hetty Bradford. To my wifeSophia Bradford. To son William Bradord. Wit; Nixon Davis, Henry Bardford, Samson Burbage. Some land records relating to the elder Avery: On 5 Mar 1770 Avery bought 61 acre tract called "Sand Hill" from Thomas Purnell, son of John Purnell. In 1798 Solomon Bradford sold the tracts Solomons Lot and Lot for Sale to Avery. On 8 Mar 1799, Solomon Bradford sold parts of the tracts "Purnells Industry" and "Conclusion" to Avery, and on the same day both Solomon and Avery sold to John Bradford. Haven't been able to find Avery's father - but think it a likely possibility that his father is the John Bradford who is son of the John Bradford who came from Accomack Co., Virginia. --- sclifton@shore.intercom.net wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to > this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/3YF.2ACIB/1663 > > Message Board Post: > > I am looking for info on the names of parents of my > gg grandfather, Avery Bradford.
