This would have been Bennett Jr. son of Bennett and Mary Ann Estes who 2nd married a Bretta Towery. It may not be the same Bretta Towery. Very sorry for any inconvience. Someone was looking for an H. Bradford and I just posted the clip out of the book so they could cross check names. I am trying to find info on Louisa Dickerson. Ole' Bennett's first wife. Do you know anything about her? She was my gg-gma. Still Diggin', Rebbell Bennett Bradford, one of six sons of Thomas Bradford, North Carolina. They were: Bennett, King, John, Thomas, Jacob and Daniel. The first Bradfords came to Arkansas in 1841. Bennett was the last to come, in 1852, from Sparta, White County, Tennessee. Some of his brothers are buried at Eglantine. Bennett, 1823-1861( my gg-gpa), is also buried at Eglantine. He first married Louisa Dickerson. Children: Elizabeth (m. Joe Huggins); Thomas; Mary; Nancy; Margaret; William (m. Emma Sowell); John (m. Margaret Estes); Louis (m. Lina Estes); Louisinda; infant, deceased; Daniel (m. Artie Mills); David and Haley Ann, twins - David died young. Haley Ann (my g-gma) married Tom Cook. Bennet's second marriage was to Mary Ann Estes. Her children from marriage to Doc Estes were Elvin, Lina, William and Margaret. Children from marriage to Bennett were: Louisa (m. Andy Mauldin); Bennett (m. Annie Caldwell, wnd - Bretta Towery). In Bradford Cemetery there are the following descendants of Bennett Bradford: fifteen g gchildren, four gg gchildren, six ggg gchildren. Bennett and Mary Ann Estes Bradford were early settlers of Old Settlement and helped establish schools, churches, Bradford Cemetery, and other public institutions. Everett Bradford was the last County Superintendent of Schools. 1948 teachers were: J. N. O'Neal, Loretta Stephens, Chloe Gardner, S. O. Jones, and Wenona Bouyear. W. Z. Bradford bought the Cottrell Store, Settlement. Joe Bradford was a teacher in Shirley in 1922. The old Bradford Hotel was a Shirley landmark.
