English, England, Genealogy, Mary and John Passengers, 1630, Exeter, Devon, Somerset, Devon, Drchester, Dorset, New England, Bridport, Taunton, Crewkerne, Passenger List, Winthrop, Fleet, West Country, Massachusetts VOLUMES 17-19, 22 Vols. 2-10 Vols. 17-19, 22 Vol. 20 Vol. 24 Vol. 25 Vol. 26 Vol. 27 SEARCH FOR WEST COUNTRY PLANTERS TO NEW ENGLAND BY 1643 Since1985, the MARY & JOHN CLEARING HOUSE has been trying to identify the 140 passengers who came to New England on the ship Mary & John in 1630. We have also conducted extensive searches in secondary sources in the U.S. and in primary sources in England to compile their English ancestries. Since 1990, we have expanded our searches for English ancestries to 3,000 to 4,000 people who we believe came to New England from the West Country (Counties of Dorset, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall) by 1643, the period of the GREAT MIGRATION. We have now published four volumes in the Search For thePassengers of the Mary & John 1630 series that include nearly 400 families who came from the West Country by 1643. Some families have only been identified in a given town, and sometimes only the parents have been found. But sometimes, we have traced the ancestries back two, three, four or more generations and sometimes to royalty. Following are about one-half of their names that appear in these four volumes. The numbers in parenthesis are the volumes in which their ancestries appears.
