Hey all. I just had to share this new information with the list! I'm a descendant of David Bradford of Cabarrus Co., NC. We (me and other researchers of this line I've been in contact with) knew that David was originally from PA that we could tell and that he stopped in Baltimore County, MD for a period of time because of a petition he signed in 1767. Well, I don't know if any of the others already knew about this document or not, but I was at work today at the state library of NC and during lunch was looking through genealogy books on Baltimore county and found 2 books on land deeds during the period he lived there. I found 2 references specifically about David and a 3rd reference that may give us a clue about his family! First, August 25, 1767, John Gosnell, planter of Baltimore Co. and wife Sarah to David Bradford, farmer of same, 65pounds, 63 acres North Side of Lrvells Glade. Signed John Gosnell and David Bradford, witness: William Aisquith and Benjamin Rogers. Then, May 3, 1770, David Bradford, farmer of Baltimore Co., to Casper Starr, farmer of same, 125 pounds, 63 acres. Signed David Bradford Witness: R. Richards and Adam Stan (maybe Starr?) and then... I saw a lot of information on Bradfords in Baltimore County. I don't know if they are related to David or not, but it gives us some leads to check out! One stuck out to me: Oct 21, 1749 William Bradford of Baltimore Co. conveyed to his son John George Bradford pt. of two tracts and Turkey Hills conveyed to William Bradford by the executors of Benjamin Jones. I think this stuck out to me because of Turkey Hills. I have other family lines in Baltimore Co. and it may be associated with them, but I've heard of Turkey Hills, so it makes me wonder. This is exciting to me! It may not be new to others, but it definitely is to me!
