Hello everyone, There are a few changes to the list that I would like to address. First, I am back in school for hopefully the last time. I am getting my 2nd MA in library science. It will take 2-3 years only hopefully, but my schedule is booked solid. Although there hasn't been more traffic on the lists per se, because of recent changes to the list administration from Rootsweb, there is more work as the moderator to do (info below on that). I am also wanting to concentrate my efforts for the time being on the NC Bradford Project. Due to this, I have passed over the moderation responsibilities to David E. Cann on a temporary basis. If I like the way he moderates the list, I will possibly turn it over permanently. David has been a subscriber for many many years and also moderates the Bradford message board on Rootsweb/ancestry. He will be sending a message to the list later to introduce himself. I'm sorry to leave the list, but this is one of the higher traffic lists I have with the most administrative duties and just takes a lot of time. I may be back, but I'll definitely be staying on as a subscriber. Secondly, everyone who was subscribed to any rootsweb list on August 10th should have received notice on the 11th that Rootsweb was making some changes to how the lists will be managed. For the most part, this change did not affect you, the subscriber, and only really affected the moderator (me). There are a few changes that you should know about though. ~to post to the list, you no longer need to include the "-L". For now on, to send a message to the list, just put the address to bradford@rootsweb.com. ~to unsubscribe/subscribe, the address is bradford-request@rootsweb.com ~I don't think this will effect anyone on this list, but FYI, you can no longer be subscribed to both the list mode and the digest ("-l" and "-d"). You must choose 1 or the other. If you have been subscribed to both, contact me and let me know which mode you would prefer and I'll makre sure that has been done. ~for the time being, messages from the message board are not automatically gatewayed, I have to approve each message manually. I try to get them approved immediately, but I'm not always able to. You may notice a messages from the message board doesn't get through the list until a day or 2 later and that is the reason. This is not permanent. It will be corrected once the lboards are updated, but that won't be until later this fall. I think that is it and if anyone has any questions, please contact me at eabradfo@yahoo.com. Good luck everyone with your research!
