Okay - I changed the subject with whom was left land in Orange Co. TWO separate folks, although both are descendants of Richard of Charles City...... THOMAS, son of Richard & Anna, who left a will probated 23 May 1761 NORTHAMPTON CO., NC; Will book 1, pg 75 had two wives: Elizabeth Smith & Mary Moore and 8 children: Henry, Frances Elizabeth, Edith, Sarah, Thomas, William, Nathaniel, Richard (left land in Orange Co.) THOMAS, son of Philemon & Mary Byrd, b. abt 1731 d. 1786 left a will in GRANVILLE Co. also had a wife named MARY _____. 9 children: Elizabeth, Mary, Philemon, David, Thomas, Benjamin, Ephraim, Sarah, Celah. In my notes with a deed of sale from THOMAS to RICHARD, I made a note that this Thomas did not have a child Richard but did have a brother Richard. {They were NEPHEWS of the THOMAS who died in 1761 Northampton Co. - if my mind hasn't vacated....} AND it gets only more confusing with their children: Elizabeth m. John Pruitt 28 Aug 1769, Granville Co - Their daughter Mary Pruitt m. Harris Bradford (son of Philemon/Elizabeth Booker) both died in Gibson Co., TN: son Philemon married Suzanne Clopton 25 Apr 1779, Franklin Co. NC, he died in Greenville Co., SC and wife Suzanne died in St. Clair Co., AL, where most of their children migrated: son David m. Mary Kearney 02 Aug 1784, Granville Co. NC migrating to Stewart Co., TN: son Thomas m. Eve Kearney 1782 Granville Co.! NC, died there but at least one of their children - Kearney - migrated to TN: son Benjamin m. Polly Smith, both died in E. Feliciana Co., LA (their migration was evidently: NC to TN to LA in 1819): dau. Sarah m. Jones Fuller 13 May 1786, Granville Co NC: dau. Celah m. Coleman Reed White 13 Mar 1786, Granville Co NC. (Have no notes on ones I didn't cover.) THIS family is of great importance in tying things together because of their migrations. Anyway, my fault.... I jumped Becky
