I suggest that a possibility for William L BRADFORD would be that he is a descendent of the Reverend Richard BRADFORD. The life and descendency of Richard BRADFORD is covered in a CD book available from Archive CD Books - Canada at: http://www.archivecdbooks.ca/acdbcanada.html I own this CD Book, which provides a wonderful history of the life and times of Richard, as well as an extensive descendency tree of three generations. My Great Grandmother, Helen Melvina BRADFORD, who married a Scot, James BISSET and lived in Huntingdon, was of this line. I took a quick look at the family tree, which cuts off in the 1920s for the most part, and did not immediately find a William L. Bradford. However, several individuals in this line in fact moved to the US and lived in the general Plattsburgh area. Here is the appropriate census data. It looks like they lost three children over time. 1930 Census Name: William L Bradford Age: 54 Estimated birth year: abt 1876 Birthplace: New York Relation to head-of-house: Head Spouse's Name: Addie S Bradford (age 57) Race: White Home in 1930: Massena, Saint Lawrence, New York Son: Harold E. Bradford (age 14) 1920 Census Name: Addie Bradford Age: 47 years Estimated birth year: abt 1873 Birthplace: New York Race: White Home in 1920: Greensboro, Orleans, Vermont Sex: Female Marital status: Married Relation to Head of House: Wife Able to read: Yes Able to Write: Yes Mother's Birth Place: New York Father's Birth Place: New York Head: William Bradford (age Son: Harold Bradford (age 4) Son: Donald Bradford (age 2) 1910 Census Name: William L Bradford Age in 1910: 34 Estimated birth year: abt 1876 Birthplace: New York Home in 1910: Beekmantown, Clinton, New York Race: White Gender: Male Wife: Addie Bradford (age 37) No children 1900 Census Name: William Bradford Home in 1900: Brooklyn Ward 28, Kings, New York Age: 24 (b: Aug 1875) Estimated birth year: abt 1876 Birthplace: New York Race: White Relationship to head-of-house: Head Wife: Addie Bradford (age 27, b. Feb. 1878) Son: William Bradford (age 5, b. Mar. 1895) Daughter: Addie Bradford (age 3, b. Dec. 1896) 1880 Census I did not find an immediately identifiable William. Are you looking in Maine for information? Try some of these resources. Maine Old Cemetery Association [MOCA] it can be found at: http://rootsweb.com/~memoca/moca.htm When looking for "lost" ancestors check the towns and cemeteries where their children lived or where the spouse was born and brought up. They may have been living with him and buried in that town or a nearby town. Remember many counties lines changed over time. A great New England towns resource is the "Genealogy Handbook for New England Research" by Marcia D. Melnyk. It can be purchased through the New England Historic Genealogical Society [NEHGS] in Boston . Their website is: WWW.NewEnglandAncestors.org The Maine State Archives has an extensive collection from the entire state on town histories. Their website is http://www.state.me.us/sos/arc/ Maine Historical Society in Portland also has an extensive collection from not only Maine but other New England towns. their website is : http://www.mainehistory.org/ In addition within their website is the Maine Memory Network which has enormous collection -4,000 historic items such as photos, histories and diaries. Good luck to all fellow researchers, Rita from Maine
