I had the good fortune to visit the Saratoga Springs, NY area the past few days. It is about as special a little town (26,000) as you could ever imagine. Marvelous restoration and care of just hundreds and hundreds of 19th century homes and buildings, Skidmore College, and of course the Race Track & museum which is remarkable. A summer climate which is second to none, at the foot of the Adirondacks (busy during the 6 wk. long racing season late July thru Labor day). But if you can find any excuse to go there for some research and holiday I could not recommend any place more. It is a truly remarkable and charming town. Countless lovely restaurants and B&Bs. Along with research allow time for a thorough tour of Saratoga Springs. Very worthwhile. Of course so many New Eng. families passed thru central NY on their westward migrations 1750-1850 . . . Some fine historical & Genie info at many different repositories, and some top notch associations which might be beneficial to join. Excellent libraries. Good source for Butler & Bradford info, White & VanWyk, and many desc. of the early NE families (not my branch) seem to have located in this area. I visited a lot of historic spots: Broadalbin, Johnstown, Fonda, Galway, Ballston Spa, and of course Saratoga Springs. These all being located in Fulton, Montgomery, & Saratoga Counties, a bit N. of Albany & Schenectady. And don't forget the whisk broom, water jug, small shovel and sponge for tidying up old ancestral gravestones! Lots of them around, and we made some very worthwhile new discoveries! So for anyone interested, some possible names & contacts are: Montgomery Co. Keith, I will tell you what I think I know about the Bradford's I'm looking for and see if they could be the same as yours or someone elses. Mary or Mollie Low/e b 1860's LaGrange, Troup Co, GA Mollie's parents were Isaac Low/e and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Bradford. They were married in1864 in Troup Co. Mollie married a Gwin, Lizzie later married a Joyce. Lizzie's parents were Thomas Bradford and Mary Harris Bradford. These Bradfords were in South Carolina and came to Gwinnett Co, GA, then Troup CO and some went to Gordon Co, GA. Anything? Good luck, Susan Gwin Brown

There probably are more, but I only have my sister's direct line taken from a Bradford family Bible in the possession of a Richard Bradford here in FL. Anyway, John and Eliz. Barksdale Bradford's son is Richard Bradford, b. 22 Apr.1796 in Wake Co. NC. married Bathsheba Baird, b. 6. Oct. 1797. Their children were William Pitt Bradford(my sister's line) and two daughters, Ann R. Bradford Quinn and Hannah Tabitha Bradford. They were in Wilkes Co. Ga. at this time. William Pitt married Sarah Adelia Smith before 1870 and I do have a list of all of their children. These are my sister's Ggrandparents. Let me know if there might be a connection. In the meantime I will send your query on to my sister. Dana

I trace my line back to a Wiley Bradford (my GG Grandpa) born about 1843 in AL, and the last bit of info I have is that Wiley's parents were born in GA, some time about 1823. I have been researching this for a long time and have gotten nowhere. BTW I live in Gwinnett County GA and have done some research in the library in LaGrange GA (Troup County GA). LaGrange is where my father used to visit 'cousins' in the 1940s and 50s, that research got me nowhere also, unless you count calling up some Bradfords in the phone book & being told they aren't related to me. Thanks so much for a glimmer of hope. Keith Bradford

John A., twins Robery M and Richard M. 1818, Almeda P, Lovely Ann, Nancy Caroline, and Oara A. 1828, Nancy married Joel Aycock 1805--of Wilkes Co.
