    2. Sanford R. Wilbur
    3. I've just put up a working webpage trying to tie two BRADFORD lines together. They were in Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey in the late 1700s and early 1800s. Later, (1850s and 1860s) members of both families moved to the Pacific States. I'd be interested to hear from anyone with more/better info on either family: http://www.netcom.com/~symbios/bradford.html Sandy Wilbur Gresham, OR --------------------------- New Listings: Used History and Genealogy Books: http://www.netcom.com/~symbios/genbooks.html

    1. [BRADFORD-L] A Bradford lineage
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/3YF.2ACIB/1680 Message Board Post: I recently inherited my dad's genealogical materials. It traces our family 11 generations back to Gov. William Bradford of Plymouth (and further). I am gradually loading it into a GED database and have dumped it in a barely formatted format here: http://www.bob-and-cheryl.com/bradfordfamilygenealogy/index.htm I will update this occasionally by dumping the database into an HTML template, but this version is only temporary. Currently I am adding some collateral information and designing a site (maybe a few months off yet) which will be a PHP/MySQL/Perl based display of the entire database. My next project (which I've sort of started) is to add the first eight generations of Bradfords descended from Gov. William Bradford -- a fairly ambitious undertaking, but some of my relatives have passed on what I think is most of the info. My dad took up genealogy as a hobby when he retired in 1972. Seems like an interesting retirement hobby for me now. What I would like to do is collect as many photographs and stories as I can about the people in the genealogy. If anyone wants to collaborate, you can e-mail me at rhbradfordjr@msn.com or I have a bigger mailbox to handle documents and pictures at bob@bob-and-cheryl.net :^)

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/3YF.2ACIB/343.539.795 Message Board Post: Hi, Amy. I'm your first cousin once removed. Your Grandfather is my Uncle Larry and my dad was your great-uncle Bob. I haven't seen your dad in about 6 years, but saw your grandfather last June. You probably know that my dad developed most of this lineage when he retired in 1972. He died on Dec 5, 2003, and the whole mess got dumped on me. I am currently trying to load his stuff into a database and put it on the web. Currently, I have about 10% of the data formatted and about 80% unformatted. Very few photos, so far and almost no documentation so far. I'm asking relatives to look at it and send me any corrections they can find. I notice one of Chrissie's (Christina Anderson) kids answered this too. Anyone who's related, even remotely, I would like to collect photographs and other materials to include in my site. Currently I am designing a whole system, which is nowhere on the web yet, but I have about three versions of the data out there. You can look at http://www.bob-and-cheryl.net to see it. There's a genealogy button that takes you to the index of the formatted stuff. There's a "genealogy" link that takes you to my dad's original document in pdf format. It has fewer typos than mine, but has not been updated much for 10-20 years. Finally, there's a "HERE" link that goes to the current edition of my SQL database that will become the basis for my website. This is my retirement project now. If you want to e-mail me, my e-mail addres is rhbradfordjr@msn.com or bob@bob-and-cheryl.net. Love to hear from any relative of any bradford.

    1. RE: [BRADFORD-L] spam coming to the lists
    2. David E. Cann
    3. Fellow Bradford researchers, Just a short "P. S." to Erin's note, if I may. I am a subscriber to this list, but also Board Admin of the Bradford Message Board from which board posts come to this list. I agree with what Erin says about the value of the gateway, particularly for those of you who do not use the boards very much, but one "down" side of the gateway is that sometimes things do get through that should not. RootsWeb does an excellent job of removing posts from the boards almost immediately when something inappropriate is discovered, but unfortunately this does not stop the immediate posting to the lists. I am list and board admin of a few others, and Bradford is one of the few cases where I do not admin both sides, and in all cases I have the gateway open because of the overall value of doing so. The "positives," in my opinion, far outweigh the "negatives," as Erin has said. Actually, though, Bradford was not the only list and board hit by this particular spammer, as he hit well over a hundred of them, and in all cases the post on the board was removed within minutes. I do not want to take up any more list space, but if anyone wishes to discuss it off the list, I would welcome hearing from you. The spam, unfortunately, is one cost of making free list and board space available for genealogy purposes accessible to the greatest number of people possible. David E. Cann decann@infionline.net Bradford Message Board Admin -----Original Message----- From: Erin Bradford [mailto:eabradfo@yahoo.com] Sent: Wednesday, January 21, 2004 11:25 AM To: BRADFORD-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [BRADFORD-L] spam coming to the lists Hi all. As you know, the message boards for these surnames on ancestry.com are gatewayed to the lists. I want to keep them that way because it provides more opportunity to connect with a cousin; however, the downside is that when "spam" is posted to the message boards, they are automatically sent to the lists. Lately, there has been a string of these to be posted. Only the Bradford and Eller list has been affected so far, but for future reference, anything gatewayed from the message boards to the list that refers to getting out of print books from astrologos.com, just ignore it. Those messages are automatically deleted from the message boards when they are posted, but still come to the lists and there is nothing I can do about that unless I don't allow gatewaying. I am a librarian, so if anyone needs help locating out of print books for inter-library loan, please feel free to email me with as much info on the books that you have as possible. Don't be afraid to look on ebay or with amazon.com or barnesandnoble.com for out of print books as well as they have used bookstores and other resources. Thanks. Erin <snip

    2. I work for the Federal Government, and I work right across the street from the Courthouse where this is taking place. I could not hardly even park for the time this was going on as these people were set up all over the place. I am not sure what this man has really done, the papers never give the whole story. But the gossip in Fort Worth, is that he just plain just does not want to follow the law and the laws are in place for us all. Just think what kind of a society we would have if we did not have laws, even tax ones. I cannot judge him one way or another as I have not heard everything, but that is what our system is for. I have heard that he was found guilty on all charges, so there must be some truthe to it all. Sorry for babblying on, but things just like this get to me sometime and the Federal Government is not our enemy, they have been very good to me and I have the best job I have ever had in my life and really love it. Sorry again guys, please forgive me for all this.
