Hi Brad, this is mainly for you, but thought the whole list could benefit. One thing I've learned in my 16 years of research is that LDS temple records need to be taken with a grain of salt, so to speak. They are great for clues, but they are submitted by others, sometimes without proof. They are just like any other user submitted file (such as Ancestry.com's world tree enteries, Family Tree Makers World Family Trees, etc.). Unless a source is cited, hang onto the information as a clue for further research, but just because LDS (or FTM, or whatever) says his father was so and so born on whatever date does not make it true. Now, I personally have gotten some good clues, especially for my brick walls, from these type of files, but unless there is a source to back it up, treat it as a clue, not a fact. As for the information you found in ancestry.com, if it was on the World Tree thing, contact the person who submitted it. There is a good chance that they may have the source to back it up, but didn't put that in the file. Many of the files at ancestry.com are great resources as many of them are copied from primary documentation, but their world trees are not. Since you didn't specify where in ancestry you found that information, I'm not sure what to tell you about that other than contact the submitter if it was an entry on the world tree project. Good luck all! Hi all. The "Genealogy Depository" for the Barringer, Black, and Bradford surnames has been updated. I still need to update the other surname, and hopefully that will be done at the end of next week. As some of you may have noticed, I have been doing some "spring cleaning" with my web site. With all the pages I had, it was getting too confusing for me to keep everything in my main folder. What I did was create sub-folders for every surname (ex: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~kshai/Black/index.htm instead of http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~kshai/blackindex.htm) I know some of you may have bookmarked a page, if that is the case, you'll want to change your bookmarks to reflect the sub-folder. Other sub-folders on the site are: /~kshai/census/index.htm /~kshai/military/index.htm /~kshai/biographies/index.htm /~kshai/books/index.htm /~kshai/immigration/index.htm /~kshai/journals/index.htm /~kshai/slave/index.htm /~kshai/wills/index.htm Sorry for the changes, but it was inevitable. The pages are still there, but are now in a subfolder. Only the main index page for the whole depository is not in a sub-folder (it's still http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~kshai/index.html). The extension for the main page is different from the rest b/c .html is the default setting on this server, pretty much everything else is .htm. Also, some pages have been combined. I noticed I had about 2 or 3 Civil War pages for the Black surname so I combined them all into one file in the /~kshai/military/subfolder. Please continue to send me information for the website. Remember, the majority of the content on the site has been submitted by other people, it's not all my own research. The site will not grow if folks don't submit anything. I would love to dig for this information myself, but between working full time, grad school full time, and hosting 2 genealogy chats (http://www.genealogyforum.org), I don't even have time to work on my own family. Most of my webpage building is done during lunch breaks and regular breaks, so I can't hunt for this myself. If something is posted to the lists that I think is of interest to the webpage, I will contact the submitter, but right now that is the extent of my "digging" :). Thanks all! Hi all, I'm new to the list and researching my mother's line of Bradfords. I'm looking for the father of Rufus Bradford (m. Helen Tuttle) who was born either 1808 inBangor, Maine or 1810 in Lowell, Mass according to the LDS temple records. Ancestry.com lists his parents as Levi and Elizabeth Lewis, going back directly to Gov. William. But the LDS temple lists parents of Rufus as Ezra and Mary Tobey Bradford, with a direct line back to Gov. William through Ezra's father, Levi (m.Elizabeth Lewis). The problem is that there is no clear pedigree for Rufus that I can find. Can anyone out there point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Still searching for the birthplace of my 4th gr-grandfather Joseph Bradford, son of Joshua and Hannah Bradford. He married Abigail STERLING, 20 JAN 1774 Medomack, Lincoln, ME. It is thought he may have been born 19 Mar 1751 in Meduncook, Knox. Me, but I have not been able to find any records. Mayflower Families In Progress only list is date of birth but not the place. His Father and Mother were killed by Indians and further info would be very helpful to complete my line.
