Surnames: BRADFORD Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3YF.2ACIB/1760.1.1 Message Board Post: Donna - There would be no expense for your husband. If he has a male Bradford cousin(s) that you know of - there would not be any expense incurred there either. Because it is necessary to established different 'family groups' with a base of matching Bradfords and his line isn't yet established, the project will gladly take care of this. [You are correct the cost of 12 markers is $99, which it turns out is very reasonable for the amount of information one gathers in relation to the cost.] Your family would not only benefit personally through participation but the Bradford community around the world would also share the benefits. Thank you for your query and let us hear from you. beckymosely@comcast.net

My husband and son are male Bradford's from the Governor's line. I find the project very interesting however the cost is a downside.

    3. Many thanks, Becky, for this posting. The PBS site is right on, as one would expect. But listers who go to the Bradfordgeneology.org site should be warned to proceed with caution. Lots of good information, but lots of errors as well. I was particular dismayed to see that the Crowell link was still spreading the Oliver Cromwell myth. Along with "The Three Brothers" & the "Cherokee Princess" tales, this must be among top 10 urban legends of genealogy. I've even encountered it among modern day Crowells who descend from German immigrants originally named Kraul. Cheers, Joe Gardner

    3. I have just joined the list and wondered whether there are any other listers interested in the BRADFORDs who lived in Abbots Langley in the late 1700's? I am particularly interested in Joseph Bradford who was born ca 1776 (place unknown), married Hannah HILL in 1812 in Abbots Langley and died there in 1825. I would like to know whether there was any relationship between him and Francis Bradford of Great West Wood Farm, Abbots Langley. Any information gratefully received. Sylvia Tupper

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/3YF.2ACIB/1762 Message Board Post: According to my GFather 's SSA his mother was a Matilda or Marinda Bradford. His Fathee was W. W. Dew. I found a Marriage cert. for them in Madison Co. Tn, that showed the Rev. W.W. Dew married a Marinda P. Reeves in Jan 28, 1892. My GFather was born in 1895. I am guessing that Marinda P. Reeves was a married name of Marinda Bradford. However it's only a guess. If anyone has any info or suggestions please reply. I have found a James C. Bradford with a dau. Marinda and belive it is her, but where does the Reeves name come from? I think Marinda was born in May 1859, in Tn. I can find no Marinda Bradford or Reeves in the 1880 cencus. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: BRADFORD, DARNALL, BUTLER Classification: Will Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3YF.2ACIB/1757.1.1 Message Board Post: I didn't know there was a limit here. Are you talking about space or different families? I know there is more than one Bradford line represented by the records I posted. I was attemting to separate those who came to Wilkes from those who came directly to Gwinnett or later to Gwinnett Co., GA. Thanks for posting your website; I'll certainly take a look at it. I am making a census document on the SC and GA Bradfords, but as you likely know, every family had a John, William, Robert, Charles or Nathaniel, Joshua, Samuel, or Richard. I am especially looking for the children of John Bradford (II) of SC(?MD) who md Anne Darnall, daughter of Henry and Anne Diggens Darnall . One source gives John as John II, son of John and 1 Ann (unknown) or 2 Joyce, widow of Jas. Butler, Prince George's Co.--(guess this is MD) [p. 259 REGISTER OF MARYLAND'S HERALDIC FAMILIIES Vol. I] The older John (planter) d. 1726 when son John (II) inherited much land in Prince George's Co and also cottage/land in village of Thinkinson in Co. of Leicester, Gr. Britain which was bequeated to testator by Uncle John Smith of ...town of One Leap...near town of Stoak Gelding in Leicester now in possession of John Bradford . John (I) also gives land to sister Mary Jones and her sons, Evan and John......Exs: wife Joyce, son John, James Carroll and bro. Thomas Gant. Wife to see that whatever is due estate of Mrs. James Butler be pd to her children out of personal estate. Thomas Gant to have charge of education of son, John during his minority. MARYLAND CALENDAR OF WILLS, p. 216-217 John (II) may have moved to VA, but do not have documentation of this yet. Does anyone have any information on those Bradfords who entered at Charleston, SC port? I believe many of the ships only gave a number on the ship and not the names.
