L-99 In 1912 Daniel C. Beaty of Olympia, Thurston County Washington states that he is 83 years old and was born Dec. 1, 1828 at Urbana, Ohio. At the time of his enlistment he was 5 feet 8 inches, light complexion, grey eyes and light hair and he was a cabinet maker. He was a Sergeant in Co "C" Capt B. L. Hennesss, 2nd Regiment of Washington Territory Volunteers in the Indian Wars. He enlisted Feb. 1, 1856 in Olympia and was discharged in Sept. 1856 at the same place. Since his enlistment he lived at Seattle Washington 1 year......................... L-59 Indian War Pension In April 1917 John R. Baty is living in Fort Bidwell, Modoc County, California and files a claim for survivor's Pension --Indian Wars. He states that he is 77 years old and born September 3, 1839 at Brown County, Ohio. He states he served under Minute Captain MacGregor stationed at Ft. Bidwell, California, fighting Piutes (?) in Northern California and Nevada, 1866, was not enlisted or discharged. Beatie, a resident of Brownsville, Saline County, Missouri states that he was a Private in Company D commanded by Captain John W. Reid in the 1st Regiment of Mo Mounted Volunteers commanded by Col A.. W. Doniphan in the War of 1846 with Mexico. He states he "was mustered in the U. S. service L-4 In 1888 James C. Beatie, a resident of Livingston, Park county, Territory of Montana states that he was a private in W. P. Walton's Company in the 1st Regiment of Missouri Mounted Volunteers in the War with Mexico. He enlisted at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas in June 1846 and was discharged at New Orleans in June 1847. He states that he is 62 and was born at Seven Mile Ford, Washington County, Virginia, August 17, 1825. Since his discharge................. L-2C In 1890 Ruth Beattie, a resident of Coulterville, Randolph Co. Illinois, applies for a pension on the service of her husband Francis H. Beattie. She states that he was a Private in Captain G. H. Hook's Company in the 1st Regiment of Ill. Vol Infantry commanded by Edwin W. Newby in the war with Mexico. He enlisted at Bellville Ill. on 26 May, 1847 and was discharged at Alton in Oct. 1848.
