    3. In May of 1917 Ewing Beaty a resident of Throckmorton County Texas states that he is 79 and was born Feb 12th, 1838 in Harrison County, Texas. He enlisted at Waxahachie Texas in 1860 and was discharged in the Spring of 1861 at the same place. He served in a campaign against the Comanch Indians in Texas. He states that at the time of enlistment he was 6 feet tall, fair complexion, blue eyes and light hair. He was a farmer. He has lived in Throckmorton County since 1874, coming from Ellis County Texas. November 17th, 1919 a letter from Andrews & Coombes, Attorneys at law in Stamford Texas, states "Mr. Beaty died more than a year ago, leaving surviving several children, several of whom are residents of Throckmorton County, Texas. Miss Kate Beaty, one of his daughters...." This application is 9 pages long. This Ewing seems to be the brother of Adam Beaty (Mexican War Pension) who was born in Arkansas and lived in San Diego, California.
