May 15, 1873 Tribute of Respect Elkton Masonic Hall May 2, 1873 Whereas, we have been deprived of the companionship of Brother JOSEPH J. BEATY, who died at his house in Arkansas on the 30th day of January last, it behooves us to express our veneration for his memory: therefore be it Resolved, that Elkton Lodge, No. 24, has lost a worthy and estimable member of the community in which he lived, a good citizen and an eminent and successful physician. Resolved, That while we regret that more of his time and talent was not given to the cause of Masonry, we accord to him an honest effort to conform to its tenets, especially in the manifestations of charity to the indigent. Resolved, That we extend to his bereaved family our heartfelt sympathy in their sad loss, assuring them that we will ever be ready to befriend them in time of difficulties and afflictions. Resolved, that a copy of these resolutions be sent to the PULASKI CITIZEN for publication, and a copy be furnished his family and that they also be spread on the Lodge record. A. W. MOORE J. W.
