I just found another section of this application that I missed the first time --another 19 pages making the length of the application 63 pages. In 1887 John Beattie applies for pension from Cuyahoga, Ohio stating :"the reason this application is made from Cleveland Ohio, instead of my home in Bay St. Louis Hancock Co. Miss is because on my way to a visit to my sister in Chicago and met my old comrade Jacob Weidenkopf, Cleveland, Ohio (who gives deposition)." His first wife Elizabeth James is still living at this time. There is a document detailing his land holdings in 1893--he owns land in Chicago, Illinois (3 lots) and Charlevoix, Michigan.
