    3. Microfilm # 0183197 Scott co., KY Will Book Vol. C 1817-1822 pg. 378 This will has been recopied. It is damaged on both sides. Imagine a piece of paper with about 2 inches damaged on each side. You are reading the middle of the will with about 4 or five words missing each time you see......rather like fill in the blanks. I suspect the William A. at the bottom of this is the son of this James. He has died in in 1821. Donna L-3 {James} Beaty of the county of Scott .........land lying in the state of Indiana ...........equally amongst William A. Beaty.........my grandchildren. I will and bequeath........hundred acres of the place I formerly lived on in Miller's run to my grandaughter Sary Ann.......for her only use and the legal heirs of her.........The said one hundred acres to be laid off by commissioners appointed by the court. I will and bequeath the balance of my plantation on Miller's run equally to be divided among John A..........children, that is my grandchildren, James excepted..........The number of acres being left Sarey's part.....being two hundred and.......acres Sarah not being included in this last.......I will and bequeath to James B. Miller......grandson all the monies belonging to me.....now in his possession with all banks and obligations due me......I give and bequeath the balance of my personal property to John A. Miller's children, that is my grandchildren James B. Miller and Sarah excepted. And in order that this my last will and testament shall be duly executed I constitute and appoint James B. Miller and James Emeson my executors and I do authorize them to make a title to V. A. Robinson Pg. 55 William A. Beatty Mr. Beatty was also director of the town of Xenia, being the successor of General Joseph C. Vance, who removed to Champaign county in 1805, at the organization of said county, and continued to act as such until 1817, at which time he removed to Brownstown, Jackson county, Indiana. He died intestate and insolvent in November, 1821, leaving, at the time of his death, his widow, Jane Beatty, who afterward married Robert Holmes, a resident of Scott county, Kentucky, also the following children, to wit: John A., who died without issue; James F., William S., Josiah G., Samuel M., Mary L., and Francis. Josiah and James F. remained in Xenia for some years. The balance of the family went to Kentuckyafter the marriage of their mother to Mr. Holmes. William A.
