I left out a Beaty application yesterday--one that was hard to see on the digital index. An observant Beaty relative pointed this out! Joseph Young Beaty, application # 45339, rejected, filed in Chilhowee Missouri, Young Beaty was 37 at the time of application, born in 1871, in Henry Co MO. his father's name was Benjamin Beaty and mother Louisa Kinney Beaty, both born in Henry Co MO. Father died August 12, 1908, mother died Sept 4, 1898. Siblings: Sam Beaty, Galena KS, Mary S. Chilhowee MO, Jackson Chilhowee MO, Abner, died Aug 1908, Finis A., Wilburton OK, and Louisa M., died 1882. Grandparents Joseph Beaty and Mary Prigmore born in KY, children: Lewis, Clark Benjamin and Mary. Also information about maternal grandparents. A letter from Young Beaty sating that his great grandfather registered in the year 1838 and that his father had looked up the records a "good many years ago." Also several affidavits from people knowing the maternal great grandfather, John Walker. Another letter from Young Beaty in which he fires his attorney! I also did not realize that for some applications there is even more information in the miscellaneous testimony section. This is true for Jesse Beaty and Welburn Batie. Welburn Batie's deposition: No 23498 Welburn Batie, after being first duly sworn deposes and says: I am 26 years of age. I am a Cherokee alottee and my number is 29942. My father is living about four miles west of here. He is an Old Settler. He drew Old Settler money. My father was too young to be in the war. I also claim Indian blood through my mother. She was not living at the time of the Immigrant payment. Bob Parris was my mother's father. I never saw him. He was an Indian. He died at the close of the war. He was an Old Settler. Martha Parris was my mother's mother. She is an Old Settler. Her maiden name was Martha Wood. My grandmother Martha Parris enrolled with the Old settler Group 258, page 80. Robert Parris, Jr., grandfather of applicant was enrolled with the Old Settlers Group 46, page 27. Wm. Batie was my grandfather on my father's side. He was an Old Settler. He was killed in the time of the war. he is enrolled with the Old settlers group 29 (89?), page 70. He had two sisters one named Emmeline and one named Samantha. Annie Batie was my grandmother. She was an Old Settler, group 140, page 57. I did not get any Old Settler money about 14 years ago.
