Beaty, 62, a resident of Lowndes, county, GA states her husband enlisted at Hawkinsville, Pulaski Co. GA in 1836. At the time of entering...her husband was "18 or 20 years of age, five feet 10 inches in height, with blue eyes, black hair, light complexion, by occupation a farmer, and that he was born at Pulaski county, State of Georgia...".after leaving service he resided "near Hawkinsville,, Pulaski Co., GA 15 years, at Hamilton Co. Florida, 4 years, at Lowndes Co., GA fifteen years and at Madison Co. Florida until his death." Her maiden name was Margaret J. Bembry and she was married May 29, 1839 at Pulaski Co., GA. Her husband died Sept. 1, 1884 at Madison Co, Florida. Nancy J. Crawford (Mrs. Thomas), daughter of Andrew D. Beaty, states that she heard her father speak about the war. Thomas J. Beaty, 73 years old, living at Plant City, State of Florida, County of Hillsborough, states "he is or was the brother of Andrew D. Beaty.." This document is witnessed by W. A. Beaty and C. B. Beaty. "Andrew D. Beatty was born the 3rd day of September A. D. 1816 Andrew D. Beatty and Margaret J. Bembry was married on the fifth day of May A. D. 1839."
