Duane Beatty (from Peoria Journal Star, Peoria, IL., section B, page 4) "Duane Beatty, 84, of 316 Dutch Elm Drive, Princeton, IL died at 4:05 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle. Born March 26, 1919, in Bureau Co. to Frank and Lois Moore Beatty, he married Rosemary Thompson on Jan. 25, 1927, in Amboy. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Evelyn (and Keith) McLane of LaMoille and M. Kathleen (and Jim) Etheridge of Wyanet; one sister, Darlene Braasch of Chillicothe; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Lynn Marie; two brothers, and one sister. He was an Air Force veteran, serving as a radio operator. He received three Bronze Stars. He was a member of various Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts for more than 50 years. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Jensen Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Robert Allen will officiate. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association."
