Ozias Bowen, President, Moors Farwell, Harvey Fowler, Nathan Strong, Associate Judges Mary Ann Beatty, widow of Leonard Beatty, dec'd relinquished her right to administer on said estate & ordered by court that Waldo F. Converse be appointed administrator of said estate & is ordered to give bond in the sum of $2000 with John Beatty & Charles Converse as security. Samuel B. Caldwell, John N. Sloane, & Marshall Burton appointed Appraisers. Leonard Beatty, late of Perkins twp. Erie co., OH inventory & appraisal 25 July 1842, land sold & estate pays creditors. pg. 298 (Leonard Beatty the elder) May Term 1849 The last will and testament of Leonard Beatty, deceased. The State of Ohio, Erie co., SS May term 1849Court of Common Pleas-29 May 1849 The will of Leonard Beatty, deceased, of Erie co., OH produced by E. Lane & Son, attorneys for executrix named in said will and Walter F. Stone & Charles H. Lee, subscribing witnesses testify & swear in open court. May 29, 1849 ordered the last will & testament be recorded. Whereupon Sally Beatty, widow of sd. Leonard and the executrix and residiary legatee appeared & accepted the trust of executing said will.-Bond of $100 with Leonard B. Johnson & James B. Radcliff as surety. Leonard Beatty Will In the name of the benevolent father of all. I, Leonard Beatty of Cedar Point, in the county of Erie, Ohio do make and publish this my last will and testament. I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Sally Beatty all my real estate wherever situate and all my goods, chattels and personal property of every kind and description, the said estate both real and personal to be to my said wife and to her heirs forever. I do hereby constitute and appoint my said wife Sally Beatty executrix of this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 28th day of December AD 1847. Settlement of Guariary Account The State of Ohio Erie County SS Be it remembered that heretofore, to wit, at the May term of court of common pleas within and for Erie county and state of Ohio, To Wit, on the 25th day of May AD 1850...In matter of Benjamin Beatty, a minor aged 14 years on 1 Oct. 1849, minor and orphan son of Leonard Beatty 2nd, deceased, late of sd. county chose Mary Ann Beatty, his mother for his guardian and the court approved bond at $4000, Hiram Dewey, Washington Dewey and Leonard B. Johnson, sureties. At May term of sd. court, to wit, 16 May 1851 from court journal, "This day came Mary Ann Beatty, who was at May term 1850 appointed guardian for Benjamin Beatty minor child of Leonard Beatty, deceased, and application for a reduction for the amount of bond changed $500 with Hiram Dewey and Washington Dewey, sureties. " On 1 March 1853 Mary Ann Bement filed in probate court of sd. county for final settlement as follows: Benjamin Beatty in A/C with Mrs. R. B. Bement letters of guardianship. To board, clothing, maintenance & education of Mary O. Beatty from Nov. 1842 until her decease July 28, 1849-6 years and 9 months @ $1.50/week. To boarding, clothing, maintenance & education of Benjamin W. Beatty from Nov. of 1842 to May 1851-8 years and 6 months at $1.50/week.
