This is a short file (13 pages) Highlights: Lydia Beatty is 80 in 1874, a resident of Grayson Co KY, Big Clefty PO. She lives with her son, A. D. Beatty.She is the widow of John Fulkerson. Isaac and Jacob Pirtle state that after the death of Lydia's first husband, John Fulkerson she remarried William Beatty who died the 22 day of Feb 1854. They saw Lydia Shaw marry John Fulkerson in Hardin Co Ky on the 21 day of March, 1811. Her first husband died in Grayson Co, KY in 1817 and she married William Beatty in Grayson Co, KY on Aug 10, 1820. There is a copy of the marriage register for her first marriage. Laurel Baty, L252

    3. More information: The application by Lydia Shaw Beatty was based on the war service of her first husband, John Fulkerson. We have no information indicating that this William Beatty (b. Aug 09, 1776, PA-d. Feb 22, 1854, KY) was a veteran. BEATTY, WILLIAM - LYDIA: WO 10692. Rejected 12 February 1874. County of Grayson, State of Kentucky, 5 February 1874, Lydia A. Beatty, resident of county and State aforesaid, aged 80, being duly sworn, declared that she is the widow of John Fulkerson, deceased, who served the full period of 60 days in the military service, who enlisted in Captain Aaron Hart's Company, that she married under the name of Lydia Shaw in Hardin County, Kentucky on 21 March 1811 by B. Ogden, a minister, that her said husband died in Grayson County in 1817 and after his death she remarried to William Beatty and he died in Grayson County February 22, 1854. State of Kentucky, County of Hardin. To any authorized minister license is granted to join together in honorable state of matrimony John Fulkerson and Lydia Shaw 21st day of March 1811.
