Beaty, Alexander; Evans & Clarks Co Ark Mtd Vols. (Florida War) Widow Emily, filed Nov. 14, 1892 in Arkansas. COPIED (33 pages) 1887-- Edward Freyschalg and John Peerson , both aged 73, state that they served in the same Company as Alexander Beaty in the Florida War. 1892 --Emily Beaty describes her husband at the time of entering service: "27 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches in height, with Brown eyes, Black hair, dark complexion, by occupation a farmer, and that he was born at Albany County, State of KY...after leaving the service he resided at Washington Co, Ark 54 years." Her maiden name was Emily Holt and she was married on Oct. 8, 1837 at Cane Hill, Arkansas." W. J. Rich and Millie Rich were present at the wedding of Emily and Alexander. 1896--Washington Co, Arkansas, Bruce Holcomb, County Clerk, states "no record appears of any marriage prior to the year 1845 as the records containing marriages prior to 1845 are supposed to have been destroyed during the War of Rebellion." 1896 -- Milly P. Rich, aged 70, Lincoln , Washington Co, Ark states: "I was present when the soldier was buried and know he died on the 27 day of June 1891." A. B. Beaty and Ella Beaty are witnesses on this document.
