Beaty, Reuben Company "I" 110 Illinois Infantry, father James C. Beaty, (application # 452,130) On July 22, 1890 James C. Beaty, aged 73, of Franklin County, Illinois, filed a Father's claim for pension. He states that he was the father of Reuben Beaty who enlisted Aug. 12, 1862 in Company "I" of 110th Regiment of Illinois Volunteer Infantry and who died of measles at Nashville, Tennessee in February of 1865. James states that he married Reuben's mother at Caloway County, Kentucky on April 25, 1838 and that she died in Franklin County, Illinois on April 18, 1847. In July of 1890 Margaret Hill of Franklin County, Illinois, aged 68, states "she has been acquainted with James C. Beaty all her life. That she was present when the said James C. Beaty married the mother of Reuben Beaty son of the said James C. Beaty. That her name before her marriage was Kezziah Thompson. That said James C. Beaty was married to said Kizziah Thompson mother of the said Reuben Beaty on the 25th day of April AD 1838 at Caloway County Kentucky. That she stood up with said parties when they were married." Margaret also states ""he is wholly unable to do manual labor by reason of old age and having his right arm amputated between the elbow and wrist." In January of 1891 Cynthia C. Beaty of Paris, Texas writes "I am the widow of the above named James C. Beaty, and the step mother to the soldier, Reuben Beaty. My husband died on the 6th day of August last, at St. Louis Mo, and I now want to prosecute his claim for my own benefit." In May of 1891 Cynthia C. Beaty states "said James C. Beaty died on the 24th day of August 1890 in Saint Louis Mo.: that she was married to said James C. Beaty in Randolph County in the State of Illinois on the 2nd day of Sept. 1853." J. R. Beaty, aged 20, and P. A. (Mrs., W. B.) Bartholemew, aged 25, both of Paris, Texas state "they have known James C. Beaty and Cynthia C.
