    3. George L. Beaty, Company "G" 121 Ohio Infantry, Mother Mary (# 66,869) In May of 1865 Mary Beaty applied for a Mother's Pension. She is 63 years old and a resident of Butler Township, Knox County, Ohio. She is the widow of William Beaty and the mother of George L. Beaty, deceased who was a Private in Company "G" 121st Ohio Volunteer Infantry and who died at Chattanooga, Tennessee on May 23, 1864 of small pox. Mary was married to William Beaty in January 1824 at Crawford County, Ohio and William died on September 20, 1861 at Butler Township, Knox County Ohio. She states "the marriage records of Crawford County were destroyed by fire in the month of June 1831." Peter Busemburg of Coshocton County Ohio states "the said George L. Beatty was the only son living at the time of his father William Beaty's death..Mary Beaty resides with an unmarried daughter who is in poor health, hardly capable of earning her support." Joseph A. Cullison and Amariah Frey state "after the said George L. Beaty entered the service of the United States as aforesaid he gave to his mother out of the money received from the government for his services in the month of February 1864 the sum of thirty dollars to be used for her support and maintenance and deposited with one of the affiants herein Josph A. Cullison the sum of Sixty-three dollars to be given and applied to the support and maintenance of his said mother as she might need it." There is a letter dated Feb. 1, 1883 that states that Mary Beaty was dropped from the Pension rolls dated to her death on Jan. 12, 1882. Laurel Baty, L252

    3. Thank you, Laurel. That is L-3. I have looked at that census so many times wondering if it was them and the William was the young man in 1830. so distinctive to have 4 dau under 10 in 1830. We did not have the marriage or have them on census before 1850..
