Nancy and Cyrus had sons John A., Thomas M., Cyrus, Zaccheus and Moses, all now [1902?] deceased, daus Nancy and Rachel, now deceased, and Ellen. Sarchet's dau Rachel md. Capt. John P. Beatty, son of Col. Z. A. Beatty. Had one son Zaccheus, deceased, and 7 daus. Fedorchak, 1959 This book names a Zaccheus Beatty as an early settler of Guernsey Co. OH. He md Margery Metcalf b VA 1780, in 1802. Zaccheus A. Beatty was b Frederick Co. MD Dec 11, 1774, son of John and Sarah. He died in 1835. John Beatty went to Cambridge, Oh in 1803 and took charge of the ferry at Wills Creek Crossing, Zanes Trace. His son Zaccheus was a federal land agent in Steubenville, OH. Also names a son Allen Metcalf Beatty. The book references Wolf's "Stories of Guernsey Co. Ohio". =================================== Powell, John, Authentic genealogical memorial history of Philip Powell of Mifflin Co., Pa.. : and his descendants and others, with miscellaneous items and incidents of interest Dayton, Ohio: Published for the author, 1880 This one says a Christena Beatty, wife of John Beatty, md 1820 and went to Strak Co OH in 1824. John died 1878. She was still living [1880]. The six of her eleven childen still living are Maj. Gen Samuel Beatty, Mary, Rosannah md John King, Elizabeth md. John Michener, and Maria md John M. Butler. Maj. Gen. Samuel Beatty was b Mifflin Co PA Dec 1820. He came to OH with his parents at age 4. He mustered into the US Army in 1846 during the Mexican war, as 1st Lt., Co K, 3rd reg't, Ohio Volunteers.
