    3. Grayson County State of Ky Sct On this 2nd day of November AD, 1852 personally appeared before me A. Gray Justice of the peace in and for Grayson, Wm H. Pearl and after being duly sworn stated that Adam D. Beatty & Delila Jane Beatty was minor children of Lydia Beatty (??) widow of John Fulkerson deceased being 2nd lieutenant in the army of the united states in the war with Great Britain in the year of 1812 as will appear from the declaration to which this is attached, as appears from the family record being a large family Bible, Adam D. Beatty was born on the 27th day of December 1831 and that Delila Jane Beatty was born on the 13th day of August 1834 also Mary Petty after being duly sworn stated that she was present at the birth of aforesaid two minor children and that the above statement is correct to her personal knowledge also Lydia Beatty the mother of the two minor children after being duly sworn stated that the above statement is correct Given under my hand this 2nd day of November 1852 Anderson Gray JPGC State of Kentucky County of Grayson Sct I Edwin Thomas clerk of the County Court of the County aforesaid do certify that Anderson Gray whose genuine Signature appears to the foregoing affidavit is and was at the time of signing the same an acting Justice of the Peace in and for the County & state aforesaid duly elected commissioned & qualified as such to whose official acts due faith & credit is due as well within as without this state, and that his signature is genuine and that said court is a court of record. C. McBeath a justice of the peace within and for the County of Grayson and State of Kentucky, duly authorized to administer Oaths in the County & State aforesaid. Lydia Fulkerson aged Sixty two years a Resident of Grayson County in the State of Kentucky who being duly sworn according to Law declares that She is the widow of John Fulkerson Deceased who was a Lieutenant in the Company commanded by Captain Solomon Brandenburg in the 3rd Regiment of Kentucky Militia Commanded by Col. Nicholas Miller in the war with the Indians on the Wabash in the then Territory of Indiana on a Requisition by the Secretary of war in the year 1812. that he volunteered at Elizabethtown Hardin County Kentucky on or about the -- day of - AD 1812 for the term of six months and continued in actual service in said war for about 6 months and was honorably discharged in the State of Kentucky on or ab! out the - day of - 1813 as will appear by the muster roll of said company. That if he ever received a discharge she does not know it She further States that She was married to the said John Fulkerson in the County of Hardin and State of Kentucky on the 21st day of March 1811 by one Ben Ogden a minister of the Gospel and that her name before her said marriage was Lydia Shaw as will appear by a copy of the record of said marriage That her said husband died in the town of Leitchfield Grayson County Kentucky on the ? day of March AD 1814 and that She is a widow She makes this Declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty Land to which She may be entitled to under the act of Congress approved 3rd March 1855. She further states that this is her first application for Bounty Land under this or any other act of Congress She further more hereby Constitutes and appoints Edwin Thomas of Leitchfield Grayson County Kentucky her attorney to Received her Land warrant when issued. Witness Jack Thomas Lydia (her mark) Fulkerson John P. Beatty We Jack Thomas and John P. Beatty residents of Grayson County Kentucky upon our oaths declare that we were well acquainted with John Fulkerson the person named in the forgoing Declaration, that we know that he lived in and died in Leitchfield Grayson County State of Kentucky on or about the - day of March 1814 and that he was buried at the Beaver Dam burying ground near Leitchfield Grayson County. We further State that we are personally and well acquainted with Lydia Fulkerson the person who made the above Declaration and know that she is the widow of the said John Fulkerson Deceased and that She is the Identical person She Represents her self to be. We further Know that said John Fulkerson & Lydia Fulkerson lived together in Leitchfield for a number of years a man and wife up to the death of the Said John Fulkerson, that Said Lydia Fulkerson is now a widow, and that She is the Identical person She Represents herself to be and that we are disinterested witnesses, and that th! e foregoing Declaration was signed & acknowledged in our presence. McBeath - a Justice of the peace in and for Grayson County Kentucky on the day and year first within written, by the said Lydia Fulkerson the applicant - and the witnesses Jack Thomas & John P. Beatty, and I certify that I know the affiants to be Credible persons that the claimant is the person She Represents herself to be and that She is of the age above Stated and that I have no interest in the prosecution of this claim A.C. Day of January 1856 Grayson County Sct To any authorised Minister of the Gospel or Authorised Magistrate these are to license and permit you to join together in the honorable State of Matrimony according to the rules and Customs of the Church of Which you are a member My William Beatty and Mrs. Lydia Fulkerson he the said William Beatty having given bond and Security in my office agreeably to the law.
