    1. [BP2000] Michael Beaty, NY, IRE, Civil War
    2. I found an interesting Civil War pension today. It was for Michael Beaty who was born in Ireland and enlisted in the Civil War from New York (Company "C" 149 Regiment of New York Volunteers). He lost his leg and was awarded an invalid pension. He returned to Ireland, was married there to Norah (Hanoria) Leahy on the 25th day of October 1878 and had four children (William born Sept. 3, 1879, Mary born Dec. 6, 1880, John born Feb. 15, 1883 and Richard born Dec. 9, 1884). The children were born in the District of Castlemartyr in the Union of Midleton in the county of Cork. The parents dwelling place is listed as Ballymacoola. Michael's file is full of Irish birth and marriage records. His widow received a pension after his death. Does anyone claim this man? I would love to share this pension. Laurel Baty, L252
