Beaty, Peter Company “G” 20th Ohio Infantry, application filed April 18, 1864, application # 44202, Certificate # 95,179 Pensioner dropped due to death on September 10, 1910 Peter Beaty enrolled on Oct. 8, 1862 at Van Wert in Company “G” 20th Regiment of Ohio Volunteers. He was “wounded in battle March 16, 1863, sent to Hosp. Millikens Bend La. Mar. 19, 1863.” He was 28 years old, 5 feet 10 inches, dark complexion, brown eyes, black hair, born Junietta Pa., a farmer. “While at the Siege of Vicksburgh on the 16th day of May 1863 he received a wound on the right hand from the fragment of a shell causing contraction and stiffness of the fingers of said hand.” In 1865 in the State of Ohio, County of Van Wert Daniel High and Nicholas Geisler state that they are well acquainted with Peter Beaty. They served in the Service of the United States at the same time and in the same Company as Peter Beaty. In 1880 Peter applies for an increase in his pension. He is living in Montcalm County, Michigan. Amos Beaty is a witness to his signature. In 1882 Peter applied for an increase in pension. He was living in Warsaw, Kosciuska County, Indiana. He states that he is 46 years old and resided in Indiana since his discharge.
