DAR ID Number: 74942 Born in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Wife of John Beatty Williams. Descendant of Samuel Magruder and of Ensign Samuel Brewer Magruder. Daughter of William Rutan (1814-78) and Mary Ann Magruder (1813-1900), his wife, m. 1835. Granddaughter of Ninian Magruder (1772-1830) and Grace Townsend (1779-1813), his wife, m. 1795. Gr-granddaughter of Samuel Brewer Magruder and Rebecca Magruder (1746-1805), his wife. Samuel Magruder (1708-86) was a justice of the peace of Montgomery County, Md., and a member of the Committee of Observation. He was born in Prince Georges County; died in Montgomery County, Md. Also No. 68973. Samuel Brewer Magruder (1744-1818) was commissioned ensign, 1777, in the Lower Battalion, Montgomery County, Maryland militia.
