(d. 1768) [Papenfuse, p.127] [I am going to leave out the entries where Thomas is mentioned only in his capacity as Judge] Page 8 Liber G 72 -74 Thomas Beatty, about 58 years of age, deposeth that at the mouth of a branch called Addison's Branch where said Creek empties into Monocacy, about 30 years past this deponent was a bounded white hickory standing near said place, which this deponent was informed by several persons was the beginning tree of a tract called "Dulaney's lot," this deponent further says that some time after one Robert Owen's laid out 1000 acres of said tract of land, for one Susannah Beatty, and began at the aforesaid hickory and this deponent further saith that several years after, he this deponent was showed the aforesaid tree, he heard there was another bounded hickory tree standing near the said place and that he went to the aforesaid place and founded a bounded Scaly barked hickory tree standing about 15 yards from the above white hickory and this deponent saith that the above said white hickory; and that some years after he saw the aforesaid white hickory deceased and fell down and the stump and roots burnt and a hole in the ground where the tree stood, and further saith not. Page 47 Liber H 39-41 Paul Woolf recorded 17 June 1762, made 17 June 1762 between Thomas Beatty of FC, for 5 shillings sterling GB, grants Resurvey on Mackeys Choice, M & B given on draught of Little Pipe Creek, northward of the Conestoga Wagon Road, about 2 miles northward of the Creek, M & B adj. to 1st line of Earnest Choice, and 5th course of Addition to Clarks Discovery, for 1110 acres total. Page 51 78 John Beatty took up a stray 11 August 1762, [missing part] before Thos Beatty. Page 61 196 -197 Mr. Thomas Beatty, being duly qualified, showed us a red oak that was laying upon the ground which site to the best of his knowledge was the beginning tree of the tract called Mackey's Delight, and further saith that he surveyed the said land for a certain John Mackey some years ago, and that he saw said tree marked.. Page 65 235 -238 Charles Beatty recorded 24 Nov 1762, made 20 Nov. between Casper Myer of FC, for 37 pounds 10 shillings, grants lot # 8 containing 63 feet in front and 594 feet in length till it intersects Carrolls Creek, adj. to Frederick Town, and next adj. to lot sold by the said Casper Myer to Thomas Bowles, it being part of a tract called Tasker's Chance sold to Casper Myer by Daniel Dulaney Esq. deceased. Barbery wife to Casper Myer released dower. page 68 273-274 John Mefford of Chester Co., Penn., recorded 6 Jan. 17644, made 9 Dec. 1762 between Paul Woolfe of FC, for 35 pcm sells part of the Resurvey of Mackey's choice, M & B given for 100 acres. Page 75 377-378 Thomas Hudson recorded lease 16 April 1763. Made 7 Nov 1762 between Thomas Beatty Junr of FC for 20 shillings cm MD, to be paid yearly and every year on the 1st April. Thomas Hutson is granted part of Leonard Folly, for and during the natural life of Thomas Hutson, and his wife Catherine. M & B given for 50 acres. He is to plant 50 apple trees and keep them in good condition., and not to clear more than 25 acres of said land, nor to sell any timber. Made 13 May between Walter Dulaney of the City of Annapolis, Esq., one of the executors of Daniel Dulaney deceased. Witnesseth that by writing, Daniel Dulaney rec'd from Edward Beatty late of FC, deceased the sum of 4 pcm for one lot in Frederick Town #65. Now this indenture witnesseth that in consideration of the money paid aforesaid, he grants to Ezekiel Beatty all of lot #65, 60 ft by 393 ft, to pay yearly one shilling c.m. Page 81 463-465 John Cary, merchant, recorded 27 May 1763, made 3 May 1763 between Thomas Beatty of FC for 35 pcm, sells tract Rockes Creek, containing 32 acres, which formerly belonged to James Beatty late of PGC, and after his deceased conveyed to said Thomas Beatty by John Beatty of Elliston County of New York, heir at law to James Beatty.
