Good Morning from the Cold, Snowy, Blowy State of Michigan! At about 6:15 this morning, the minute I turned on TV, there on The Fox News Channel, was a close-up of a "Jeff Beatty, an Anti-Terror Specialist." He was talking about Homeland Security, but I never heard a word he said, because I was too busy studying him! He really resembles some of the Beatty men in our family! With his long narrow face, his eyes, his long slender nose, the way he talked sort of out of the corner of his thin lips, and the way he cocked his head, he looked exactly like one of my mother's first cousins. Does anyone know from which Beatty Line this Jeff Beatty descends? My mother used to say that Ned Beatty, the actor, looks just like all of the round-faced men in our Beatty family. We do have "Edwards," and I believe all of them had the middle name of Benjamin, or just the initial "B," which was probably Benjamin. I know that the nickname of at least two of the Edwards was "Ned." I know, we women tend to describe people by using well-known actors or public figures. When my sister and I want to tell someone what someone looks like, we might say something like, "He kind of looks like Cary Grant but acts like Gary Cooper." Or, we might say, "She is a cross between Michelle Pfeiffer and Malanie Griffith." Just last night on the phone, my sister was trying to describe a man to me, and she said, "Well, he looks like a young Steve Allen, only with less hair!" Maybe it is just the artist in us! We look at eyes, ears, noses, mouths, hands, and how they part their hair. If anyone knows the Beatty Line of this man,--and you don't think it is wise to respond on the Mailing List, you can e-mail me privately. Lois (Griffes) Kortering L-39
