Thanks, Julie, and that is understandable, since I think that my James Lewis Beatty/Beaty was born there but sort of as passing-through point to St. Joseph Co., Indiana, where James died. It is possible that his parents lived and died in Stark County, and if I am to believe our family history that was passed down to me, then, I would be looking for a James L. Beatty/Beaty, wife unknown, who had seven sons and 1,2,3, daughters and lived and died in Stark County in the mid-1800s. Oh, "Were there not so darn many James Beatty men!" It is as bad as having a George Washington Jones, but I absolutely DID find him, the father of my paternal grandmother, and I was thrilled that he was a descendant of the Mayflower passenger, Stephen Hopkins. We all know that those families that survived the voyage across to America were all just "Normal families," but what was unique about them was that they were "Survivors!"
