Isaac Foster, (1725-96), was a member of the Committee of Safety of Greenfield, 1776. He was born in Lebanon, Conn.; died in Greenfield, Mass. Isaac Foster, Jr., (1761-1800), was a minute man at the Bennington Alarm. He was born in Greenfield, Mass.; died there. Josiah Walker, (1741-1812), served as selectman and as a soldier from Sturbridge, Mass. Also No. 3121. John Hunt, (1737-1813), was a minute man at the Lexington Alarm. He was born in Braintree; died in Belchertown. Orlando Root, (1734-1805), served as a private in the Hampshire county militia. He was born at North Hampton; died at Belchertown, Mass. William Beatty, (1739-1801), served as colonel in the Maryland Flying Camp. He had with him his sons Henry and William and the latter was killed at Hobkirk's Hill. DAR ID Number: 32570 Born in Haddonfield, New Jersey. Wife of Robert Beatty Comegys. Descendant of John Stafford, of New Jersey. Daughter of Montgomery Stafford and Mary Horner, his wife. Granddaughter of John Stafford, Jr. and Keziah Stafford, his wife. [p.190] Gr.-granddaughter of John Stafford and Hannah Matlock, his wife, m. 1781. John Stafford, (1755-1828), enlisted in Pennsylvania, 1775, under Capt. Christopher Stewart and served until the capture of Fort Washington. He then joined the artillery under Capt. Francis Proctor, 1777, where he served until 1781. He was at Brandywine, Germantown and under Sullivan in Rhode Island. In 1823 his pension was allowed for four years actual service as private, Pennsylvania line. He was born in England; died in New Jersey and is buried in Old Newton, Camden Co., N. J. Nelda L.
