Patrick and Elizabeth were married in 1807 in Washington Co., Virginia and did have a son named James Hayter Buchanan. However, he was born in 1819 and married Jane Beatty Ryburn (different person than Nancy) in 1845. It is possible there was another Patrick Buchanan-Elizabeth Haytor couple who were the parents of the James Buchanan who marr Nancy Ryburn in 1813, but if so I have not located them. >4.
