Shelby; was married to Miss Elizabeth Stevenson in 1818, and in 1836 removed to Saline Co, MO, where he remained until his death, 28 Feb 1874, aged 84 yrs 1 mo. The writer received Brother Beattie into the Methodist Church in 1829, on the Sumersett circuit, KY Conference .... His companion, 3 daus and 1 son preceded him to the heavenly world, while 3 daus & 3 sons are still on pilgrimage.
