Francis Nash, (1720-77), was lieutenant colonel, 1775, colonel, 1776, brigadier general Continental army when mortally wounded at Germantown. He was born in Prince Edward Co., Va. Archibald Maclaine was a member of the Committee of Safety; of the Provincial Congress and of the Convention, 1778. He died near Wilmington, N. C., 1791. Peter Mallett. (1744-1805), served in the commissary, as member of Committee of Safety and in the Legislature of North Carolina. He was born in Fayetteville, N. C., where he died. Gr.-granddaughter of Richard Woodhull and Hannah Smith, his wife; Selah Strong and Ruth Woodhull, his wife. Gr.-gr.-granddaughter of Jesse Woodhull and Hester Dubois, his wife; Nathaniel Strong and Amy Brewster, his wife. Nathaniel Strong, (1737-78), served in Col. Jesse Woodhull's regiment.
