This is the county that my earliest-proven Beatty/Beaty was born. James Lewis Beatty IV (spelled Beaty on his marriage record). There are a lot of given names like my family on this list; Harriet, John, Anna, George, Clinton, and Lewis, but no dates are the same or close. I received a marriage record for James L. Beaty two years ago, and in the last few months I sent for it again, because it seemed more like a marriage intent. I was sent a beautiful hand-written one weeks ago, that had more information on it. The marriage intent or license was signed on 11 December 18440. James L. Beaty and Ann Maria Wilcox were married in Celina, Mercer Co., OH on 14 December 1840. Witnesses were: Hallabuud or Hallabund H. Willcox, Jenine or Jennie J. Willcox, and Jane Willcox. Just below that, James signed after this statement: "On this 14th day of Dec. 1840 come James Beaty and being sworn saith that he saw Hallabou (or Hallaboo) Wilcox sign the within and signed the same as witness." I did find an H. Henry Wilcox online but it led me nowhere.
