In this deed William and Thomas Beatty sons of Thomas and Sarah Turner Beatty of L-198 reference their inheritance from their great uncle Thomason Ellzey, deceased of Fairfax co., VA. These deeds copied by Ray Beatty and excerpted by Donna VanZandt. L-198 William Beatty married to Sally/Sarah Yocum and Thomas is married to Henrietta James and Joseph are probably L-198 but since land descriptions of both mention land of George Beatty, deceased heirs or land of Thomas Beatty. They were probably neighbors. Plus taking into account Geo. Beatty of L-9 married previous to Sarah we have a lot of unknown Beatty males born previous to 1800 in Montgomery co., KY. Montgomery co., KY Deeds Vol. 12 pg. 115 This indenture made and entered into this 17th day of January 1825 by and between William Beatty and Thomas Beatty of the one part and John S. Yocum, David Yocum and George McCullough of the other part. Witnesseth that for the consideration and supposes herein after mentioned the said William Beatty and Thomas Beatty doth bargain and sell and by these presents doth bargain sell and convey by way of mortgage to the said John S. Yocum, David Yocum and George McCullough the following property, to wit, one waggon and four pair of gears and four horses being the same that the said Thomas and William bought from the said Yocum and five feather beds and their furniture and also all other interest that the said William and Thomas hold to the estate of Thomison Elsy, decs'd formerly a resident of Fairfax county state of Virginia, but let it be plainly understood that this mortgage is only given to the said Yocum and McCullough to secure to them the title that James Beatty and Joseph Beatty hold on the tract of land that the said William Beatty, Thomas Beatty and Polly Beatty sold to the said Yocum and McCullough and the said Joseph and James Beatty holding a deed to the same land but let it be further understood that if the said Thomas Beatty and William Beatty or either of them do make or cause to be made to the said Yocum and McCullough or either of them all the title that the said Joseph and James Beatty hold on the tract of land above described within twelve months from this date then the said Yocum and McCullough shall have no claim on none of the property above emtioned after recovering the title before mentioned but let it be understood that if the said Thomas and Will Beatty should fail in conveying the title of the said Joseph and James Beatty within twelve months or cause the same to be done the said John S. Yocum, David Yocum and George McCullough shall have and hold all the property above described for their own use and benefit.
