    3. Scott Co., KY Deeds Microfilm # 1876550-1876555 These volumes (1A-V) were recreated from the fire-damaged originals. The information is only partially complete. Exact date identification is very difficult. Starting with these deeds the person copying the deeds does not consistently use ....................for missing words so we have people signing at the end of the deed who are not even mentioned in the deed and on some deeds it looks like some names are missing at the end as signatures. Gorham and Joseph Rice of the same place for $1 a parcel of land in Scott co., KY containing 40 acres bounded and described in a deed from B. S. Chambers and his wife Violetta to the said Betty dated 9 Oct. 1825, two lots conveyed to the said Betty by deed from James D. Offutt, Samuel Theobold, Baruch Offutt, Rich'd Branen and their wives. Also a Negro slave of the name of George. He defends against the claim of all except the dower of his present wife. It is subject to the following consideration...John Betty is indebted to said Gorham and Rice for 12 months for $900 gold or silver and if said Betty will pay this sum then this deed is null and void.... (Ann Catharine nee unknown Henderson Beaty/Betty) History of Bourbon, Scott, Harrison and Nicholas Counties, KY-1882 Pg. 190 Scott County, Georgetown Growth & Development In 1809 Messrs. Wolfe & Henderson removed from Pittsburgh to Georgetown and settled here. They carried on the manufacture of powder. Mr. J. Wolfe removed to the country and Mr. Henderson died a short time afterward. His widow was a useful and important character in the town and county for more than a fourth of a century. She was a most excellent nurse and midwife, and stood well in the community as a true Christian woman. She married for her second husband, John Beatty, and was left a widow again in a few years. She was a kind, attentive nurse and rendered good service in the cholera of 1833. She died about 1854, leaving three daughters-Mary, who married Judge B. T. Thompson; Adeline, who married John Chaham, and Betty Beatty. _____________________________________ F-418 Beaty to Beaty This indenture the 24 March 1825 between William Beaty of Scott co., KY of the one part and George Beaty of the same place of the other part.......William Beaty for $1 paid by George Beaty..............containing 50 acres being on the bounds ................which the said William now resides being...........county also the following slaves, viz Melissa?....................Fanny, Mary and William, two horses, seven..............of cattle ....many articles mentioned......with the following conditions, said George is to take charge and possession of all sa id estate and pay off and discharge all just debts now due by said William Beaty, secondly the said William and his family consisting of wife and children are to be permitted to remain upon the farm and to be supported out of the proceeds of the property until said William and his wife's death thereby after the payments of the debts before named and the death of said William and his wife the balance of the property remaining is to be divided equally between said William's children and their heirs forever.
