The documentation is pretty good on Martin. His nephew wrote this letter from Missouri. What year was the book written. Does she give a source? Usually the oldest document tends to be the most accurate. Donna L-3 Robert Beaty, living in Cooper Co., Missouri wrote a letter for pension application, here given in part. "Date April 12, 1856. The book mentioned is titled: MOUNTAIN HISTORY AS I RESCUED IT (Book #5), Wilma R. Pinckley, 1990, 86 pictures with history, 140 pages, paperback It is available from FENTRESS COURIER P. O. Box 1198 Jamestown, TN 38556-1198 The cost: $8.00 + $0.68 sales tax and $2.00 postage. This comes from http://www.fentressco.com/historical.html Apparently Ms. Pinckley wrote several history books about Fentress County. I can't comment of their accuracy. Les Beaty L-20
