I cannot confirm his birth, somehow I had it that he was the son of James Beattie and Helen Kerr and have thought this for about 18months but when I found his death entry on Scotlands People it gave a William Beattie widowerof Mary Milne father William Beattie Blacksmith this was news to me and now I cannot find anything else about his parents.
