Armond, The interstate change went the other way. The Commonwealth of Virginia originally claimed the area, and a lot of early land titles in the area were issued by Virginia, but in the late 1700s the area became part of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and has remained in that jurisdiction. It is just a few miles east of what used to be Virginia and is now West Virginia.
