Hi Teresa, When I first read your msg.....thought that the 1830 Saline Co. MO Andrew B. was probably L2D -Andrew Beaty - son of Wm. and a bro. to my gggrandfather, Joseph R. Beaty...as Wm and his grown children came to Saline Co. before 1830...Probably 5 sons and 4 dgts. I've had the census records in my files for years...but guess I never did the simple math on ages before...No excuse for that..just too busy searching for all those siblings, I guess. But, I believe you are right that it is Andrew Beaty L9 ? - sure doesn't fit the L2D Andrew. According to records, L2D Andrew m. Julia Ann Martin Dec. 1825 in Lafayette Co. MO. he - was born abt 1800 in KY...and Juliann b. 1808 in KY. They had ll children. male b. 1826 (in Lafayette Co) Females born 1830 , 1832,1834, & 1837...then 2 males b. 1839 and 1841...(3 more by 1850 census) Inc. a son, Joseph L., b. in 1843 or '44....the time my gggrandfath. Joseph R. died. Andrew and Juliann are in the 1840 Saline Co. Census and also 1850...appear to lived there all their lives..the BPlist put his obit in some time ago...but don't find it now...I can't find Andrew & Juliann in anywhere in 1830 census...might have been living with relatives. How or if these Beaty lines are connected , still to be determined....The DNA tests indicate many of those tested had a common origin (ancestor)..sometime back in time. Guess I would have gone on with my wrong assumption, had you not sent your info...so Thanks, cousin. Marlene L2D

If we take the 1830 Montgomery Co., Missouri census as the correct one, we must come up with two more daughters (or other girls) living in the home at that time. The young sons could be George and James, but who would be the second daughter under five (besides Mary), and the second daughter age 5-10 (besides Syrena)? Since Andrew and Jane were married in April of 1821, six children in nine years is certainly not impossible, but given the only method of birth control during those days as the nursing period, it seems likely that only four children were born in those nine years. However, it seems that both those extra daughters also show up on the 1840 census. Mind-boggling, isn't it? Do we have any idea what the names of these daughters might have been? My only other thought on this would be--Why did they choose Montgomery Co., Missouri? I am really getting confused. I still lean toward the 1830 Saline Co. family as mine. If I could find George Mattox/Maddox on the 1830 census, that might give a clue, but none of the Georges I find seem to fit the birth pattern of the children. I guess it's a matter of getting to Saline Co. to see if I can find a deed with Andrew and his wife's name on it. I will do that as soon as I can. Right now, I am busy running to Lincoln to see my mother who is in the nursing home there. She has been in the hospital for the last four days and will leave tomorrow, so I will have to take a couple of days to see that she is settled in again. She is 93 and in good mental health, but her body is giving out. She is able to walk with a walker, and is up and around most of the time. Sorry to stir up a hornet's nest. By the way, does anyone know anything about those Beatys in Chariton Co., Missouri--John, William and Alexander? Also, Samuel of Cooper Co. in 1830. I give up for tonight. HELP!!!
