    3. These notes on Burial records for Greenock Cemetery, Renfrewshire, Scotland were given to me by Carol Beattie Selbiger, L438. The records do not concern her family, but she wished to share them with other Beattie researchers. I have added information from death records available on http://www.Scotlandspeople.gov.uk in brackets by a few of the burial records. --Laurel Baty, L252 Here is Carol's family (L438) in Greenock, Renfrewshire in 1881. She has been unable to locate a death record for Mary Nicholson Beattie or John Beatty, the parents of Edmund Beattie: 1881 Greenock, Renfrewshire, 70 Ann St. p. 3 Edmund Beattie born Ireland age 27 Martha Beattie born Ireland age 25 John Beattie age 4 born Greenock Mary Beattie age 2 born Greenock Martha Beattie age 7 months born Greenock Mary Beattie, age 57, born Ireland, mother [Edmund Beattie married Martha Kirk Nov. 26, 1875. His father was John Betty (deceased) and his mother was Mary Nicholson. He was living at 66 Drumfrochar Rd., Greenock at the time of his marriage.] Also at 70 Ann St. Matthew Beattie age 24 born Ireland [I have posted information on this Matthew, I believe that he is Edmund Beattie's brother. Mathew did not move to America but died May 4, 1916 in Port Glasgow, Renfrewshire.-L. B.] Elizabeth Beattie age 22 born Port Glasgow, Renfrew Matthew Beattie age 1 born Greenock [died March 17, 1884, address 74 Ann St., See burial below] [Matthew Beattie of 70 Ann St. married Elizabeth McVane, Feb. 20, 1880. Matthew Beattie's father was John Beattie (deceased) and his mother Mary Nichol.
