Have just received "The Clans of Scotland", disk 2 from, NETFLIX and pleased to find one section situated in the Border Country; viz, "The Armstrongs." Of particular note to me is the Hermitage Castle near Langham. Impressed to note the cutting and stacking of the stones are exactly the same as the Beaty/Beatty Stone House near Galena, IL on what was the US Army Savanna Proving Grounds on E. bank of the MS River. The builder, John Beaty/Beatty was my gg grandfather. He quarried the stone on-site and the quarry became the basement of the house. Although this house has been certified as a national historic site, there are no funds available at this time to dismantle and move it to an area outside of the vast area contaminated with unexploded ordnance.
